The Team
The SSR Resource Centre is run by the team at the Global and Human Security Program at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). Contact details for individual team members are below; for general inquiries please visit our Contact Us page.
Mark Sedra (msedra@cigionline.org) is a Senior Fellow at CIGI and leads the organization’s Security Sector Governance Project. He also teaches in the Department of Political Science at the University of Waterloo. He has been working on SSR issues for a decade in a number of different capacities.
Geoff Burt (gburt@cigionline.org) is the Research Officer for the Global and Human Security Program at CIGI. He is responsible for content development for the SSR Resource Centre and is the Project Coordinator for the Security Sector Reform Monitor.
The SSR Monitor Editorial Board is comprised of experts from the global security sector community. Members of the board peer-review editions of the Monitor and provide general editorial guidance for the publication. Click ‘Read More’ for a full listing of board members and their affiliations.

Brandon Currie (bcurrie@cigionline.org) is an Online Content Editor at CIGI. He works with the Global and Human Security Program and CIGI’s online collaboration team to produce and manage content for the Resource Centre.
Michael Lawrence is a CIGI Junior Fellow. He researches, edits and creates content for the Global and Human Security Program, including the SSR Resource Centre.

- Asia-Pacific: Robert Karniol is a veteran military affairs journalist and was Asia-Pacific Editor of Jane’s Defence Weekly from 1988-2007. He is now a columnist for the Singapore Straits Times.
- East Africa: Aly Verjee is a writer and analyst, specializing in the study of contemporary African politics. He has lived in East Africa since 2005.
